Types of Signage | VSP Custom Made Signage

VSP Graphic Group has been a provider for both interior and exterior signage for a few years now, developing projects both here at home in WNY, and around the country. Having started the company implementing vinyl signage for vehicles and graphics, the company grew into more of an all encompassing signage designer. Today we create custom signs for businesses large and small, with a craftsmanship and creative element you won’t find anywhere else. Here are just a few types of signage that you might find beneficial for your company or organization.

Monument, Pole, or Pylon Signs

Pole signs are the large signs you’d see that are attached to the ground, and stand freely to display outdoors. Think of the McDonald’s golden arches at the top of the pole. They can also be shorter, around 6-8 feet, sitting atop bricks or at the entrance of a parking lot, known as a monument sign. The uses are universal, but having a one that really stands out could be beneficial.

Architectural Signs

Typically used as outdoor wayfinders, business signs, and corporate office signage, these signs are also limitless in uses. They can be constructed from aluminum or masonry, and helo to assist in identification and wayfinding. Can be fabricated in several shapes of cabinets and pole covers. (round, round ends, oval, cut corners, etc.) You see these signs anywhere, usually found lower to the ground.

Channel Letters

These signs are the large letters you’ll often see that feature large metal or plastic letters with faces, raceways, and cabinets. There are all different styles of channel letters, front lit, back lit, neon lit, trimless, and more. It all depends on what you want the letters for. You can find letters from 6 inches all the way up to 15 feet. Essentially any business with a storefront within a plaza will have this style of sign above the entranceway.

Dimensional Signs

Dimensional signs are 3D and basically protrude from an interior wall to give a clean, slick look. These provide a great solution for any business. You can incorporate LED lighting or neon that can spiff it up, but even regular metal, plastic, or high density foam can look really nice. You can install directly to the wall, or to an acrylic background.
